#1 THE BARBER SHOP

89 York Street, Sydney

Although night arrives, you may see some shops' door unlocked. The Barber Shop is one of those. Actually it is a real barber shop, where people come for grooming during the day.  You won't realise anything special but it has a secret door opens to a nice bar, downstairs. The bar is very spacious and has a patio on the back. You may find a wide range of cocktails including their "signature cocktails." It is famous with its boutique beers and Aussie wines. Grooming is also highly suggested during the day.

 
 

#2 THE BAXTER INN

152-156 Clarence St, Sydney

It is not enough to search on internet and star on Google Maps. If you are lucky enough, your friend will take you to the place, or you have read this blog beforehand. 

You will find no signs of The Baxter Inn in the street. You will see some loading dock on the back of the street. Go through the narrow stairs on the end of the street. You may think that you are on the wrong way but go ahead. If you insistent enough you will reach to a whisky room 

You will find hundreds of different whiskeys, specials cocktails, beers and wines in the The Baxter Inn. Killer Negroni is highly suggested.

They were ranked among the top 50 Bars in the world in 2016.

#3 SINCE I LEFT YOU

338 Kent St, Sydney

It is a bit easier to find Since I Left You compared to other speakeasy bars. The good part of this bar is they serve delicious food and have live music during the night. Street artists have painted the wall on the back of this bar and looks fascinating. It's cosy atmosphere, surrounded with plants makes "SILY" special.

 #4 FRANKIE’S BACKBAR, SYDNEY

50 Hunter St, Sydney

If you had done enough search for best Italian restaurant in Sydney, probably you have discovered Frankie's. But if you are still not aware of Frankie's Backbar, this is your chance. Its name comes from being the backstage of performers during early years and it functions as a bar with names like Frankie's Backbar or FunRoom.

Feel free to order a full pizza with your drinks. Also remember to play with Arcade machines, they will take you to your 90s. 

 

#5 PALMER & CO.

Abercrombie Ln, Sydney

Palmer & Co sits on a narrow street with an unfamiliar door. When you go inside, first impressions are impressive due to stone walls, wooden decor and black-white portraits. 

Live music makes the place lively. You should definitely try Mac'n'cheese, cheese fondue and pretzels. Moreover you can find snacks and bites on charcuterie which is located on the side. Selection of wines will definitely match your delicious bites.
