Stockholm: | Coffee Shops

It's time for FIKA! Coffee is not just a drink, it's a lifestyle

Fika is the name of a Swedish tradition that is also pronounced as it is written. Fika exactly means; coffee break and more. We might think it like spending some time with somebody drinking coffee, like hanging out.

It would probably be appropriate to call Stockholm as the best place for Fika. There are even more places "for fika" where we do not even remember the name :) We recommend you to explore and hang around Stockholm like we do.  We will write down a few of them, and leave the rest to your discovery.

  • Espresso House - a classic for Stockholm

  • Snickarbacken 7

  • Johan & Nyström

Since there are many cafes all over the city where you can taste delicious coffees, you do not need a list like "the best coffee places". It's like having a wildcard where you always get a tasty, high quality coffee.

Espresso House

We would also like to mention Espresso House here. In Stockholm, Starbucks stores have been replaced by Espresso House stores, and we liked it very much :) You can find these cafes all over the city where Swedish coffee meets Nordic design. Birger Jarlsgatan and Vasagatan stores are our favourites.

Snickarbacken 7

We have previously visited this café, which is very close to our home, but it was closed due to Midsummer* Fest. We have been familiar with living in crowded cities and we were to start to feel as if we were left alone in a quiet city. When it was over and the people went back to the city we had a chance to discover Snickarbacken 7. The meals were incredibly tasty and the coffee was outstanding!

*In mid-June, school is out and nature has burst into life. It seems like the sun never sets. In fact, in the north of Sweden it doesn’t, and in the south only for an hour or two. This calls for celebration! Friends and family gather for the most typically Swedish tradition of all: Midsummer.

Johan & Nyström

Well, we said that you don't need a list of best coffees in town, were exactly talking about this: Here are 2 coffee shops where we can not prefer one on each other. :)

Johan & Nyström have a seating area both indoors and outdoors, adding a distinctive beauty to the café...

We were the lucky ones who had the chance to enjoy sunny weather before we got caught in the rain. It was one of the best moments where we were with our best friends enjoying our sweet brownies and brewed coffees. While all this was happening our drone was in action picturing all of these beautiful moments.
